Link To My Slideshare uploads- if slideshare doesn't load through blog

Here is a link to my slideshare uploads as slideshare is prone to 'not being able to load' midway through presentations when seen on blog.

Evaluation Question 4: How did you use media technoligies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

How did you use media technoligies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Throughout our A2 project we have used a variety of different media technoligies to aid our construction, research, planning and evaluation. In this blog post i will split the post into three different stages of our project and how we used media technoligies in those stages to aid our project.

Research and Planning-

During the research and planning stages of our project we used a variety of different media technoligies to aid us. The use of Web 2.0 and 'YouTube' helped us massively during our research stage as we were able to complete textual analysis' of existing media products to help us establish both genre conventions as well as target audience.

The use of 'Blogger' has allowed us to demonstrate all stages of our product in both creative and visual ways. The embed tool of the website has allowed us to involve software from other sites such as 'YouTube', 'Scribd', 'Prezi', 'Voki' and 'Slideshare'. These softwares have hugely increased the visual aspect of our blog that has helped us to express our planning and presentation much more effectively.

Construction-
Throughout our construction stages we relied on media technoligies to help us produce our final project. To film our project we used the HD quality 'Nikon D5100' camera to help us achieve high quality footage throughout our project that would remain high quality once exported online. The proffesionalism of the camera also helped us to expand the variety of camerwork we used, tools such as focus change/blur and in camera black and white transitions gave our shots a proffesional and high quality look.

With our camera we used a 'Star 63' tripod to maintain proffesional looking shots throughout. As well as helping us to create still and un-shaky shots the use of the tripod helped us to create the 'crane shot' that is featured twice in our video.

The editing process of our project completely surrounded the use of media technoligies. A variety of softwares such as 'Adobe Premier Pro CS5', 'Adobe Photoshop CS5' and 'Adobe After Effects' helped us to edit the footage for our film as well as adding additional content with our digipak and magazine advert tasks. In our project we used lots of different jump cuts that worked with the beat of the song, this produced a very fast paced and proffesional look that worked with the convention of our genre, this would not have been achieved if we did not use the complex Adobe editing system.
Evaluation-

Through the evaluation stage i have used a number of different technoligies to aid my final stage of the project. In my first evaluation question i used a 'Prezi' presentation to present the way i used, challenged and developed conventions throughout my project. 'Prezi' allowed me to present my ideas in a very visual and audience friendly way.

Throughout my project the use of my 'iPhone 4S' smartphone has been hugely beneficial in sharing and sending content through a variety of different mediums. One of these medium is social networking, our third evaluation question tackles audience involvement and my phone was used to both film the video within that quesiton as well as share content over social networking sites like 'Facebook' and 'Twitter' to help get audience feedback and develop our project to meet the needs of out audience.

Question 3 Part Two: Annotated Version Of Final Video

To finish off question three i have annotated our final video on YouTube explaining how we have developed our video from initial and second screening to the final project using the feedback we recieved from our audience.

Evaluation Question 3 Part One: What have you learned from audience feedback?

What have you learned from audience feedback?

Second Screening Feedback Sheets- Midway through our construction stage we had a second screening with out peers that involved each student completing a feedback sheet that included both their positive and negative views on the music video they had seen.

Here is a quick video of me discussing the feedback we gathered from those feedback sheets as well as discussing the way we used those sheets to develop our project using audience feedback-

Target Audience Questionnaire- As well as getting fellow students to complete feedback sheets I also created a online survey that can be viewed here (http://kwiksurveys.com/app/rendersurvey.asp?sid=fr0aoe7rbktzuhq103392&refer=billychristensena2%2Eblogspot%2Eco%2Euk#.US9pEgC_Dcs.blogger) this survey allowed to pinpoint our exact target audience and therefore construct our project with that specific target audience in mind. Creating a target audience questionnaire is another example of how we learned from audience feedback.

Evaluation Question 2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancilliary texts?

I have answered question two in the form of two different powerpoint presentations-

Powerpoint presentation one: Discusses the relationship between main product and ancilliary tasks through Mise En Scene and themes. The aspects of mise en scene we tackled are-

  • Location
  • Lighting
  • Costume
Powerpoint presentation two: Discusses the themes presented in main product and ancilliary tasks. The themes we tackled are

  • Aggression
  • Mystery/Ambiguity
  • Teenage Angst/Rebellion

Powerpoint One-

Powerpoint Two-

Evaluation Question 1: In what ways does your media product use, devlop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Here is a prezi presentation showing how we used, developed and challenged media products in both our main vidoe as well as our ancilliary tasks.
