Magazine Poster- Initial Designs

As stated in previous post as a team we have decided to go for a very vague and ambigous marketing theme using mainly dark colours and rural locations (as seen in our music video).

Here of a few results of a photoshoot that may be used as the final image for our magazine poster-

Magazine Poster Planning- Similar Artist Designs

As part of our project one of our ancillary tasks involves creating a magazine poster for our artist.

To fit with similar artist such as 'The XX', 'Lula James' and 'XXYYXX' who have very ambigous and vague previous posters and marketing campaigns we have gone for a similar look to help establish both genre and artist more.

Here are an example of some current posters by those artists-

Self Evaluation Of Initial Screening

Based on the feedback we recieved from peers and teachers during the initial screening I am able to assess the work we have done at this stage.

Sticking to the examinors mark scheme I have graded myself:

Video- 10/40 - Lack of completed editing and work gone into project so far has limited proffesionalism and structure of video. However, some very promising shots and themes present that will be developed into a proffesional and creative final video.

Digipak- 6/10 - Similarly to music video lack of completion and final touches limits its proffesionalism. Although the photographs used show promise.

Advert- 2/10 - Very little work gone into poster so far, I have had a lack of involvement in the poster so far as the Digpak is more my responsibility, however I plan to draw up some initial ideas and themes as soon as possible.

Teachers Comment-

I would completely agree with the self assessment so far. Which would leave you with a grade of 18/60 currently. This added to your planning assessment at this stage would be a basic level at this stage. As a student that you quite rightly indicate your self shows a lot of potential you should really aim at this stage to lift the project back up in to its rightful place.
Targets: Divide up the song with your partner and, therefore the editing. Add to your blog the processes of filming and editing - don't forget to add any video or images that you have of these stages.
